Living Room "Completed"

Enjoy the pics! I didn't straighten all of the pillows on the couch before the pics, but you get the idea of what it looks like when we are in the middle of using the space!

We hung the pictures this weekend which completed the final touches on the room! All we need now are some pictures of the baby on the walls and a new light fixture in the dining area!

Jason also put new shelves into two of our front hall closets. He is my very own "Bob the Builder" and does excellent work! Sorry - he is not for hire! I need him to myself every moment I can get him not doing things to our house! :-)

In other great news, I switched from the OB I was seeing and had my first appointment today with a midwife! I loved her demeanor, care and concern for me, and the fact that she will do her very best to be at our birth instead of just the dr on call. I am so glad that Katie recommended her to me! I feel SO much better!

We heard the heartbeat today - nice and strong! We have our ultrasound on April 30th - so just over a month and we'll know if it is a son or daughter!

Brady Bunch Fun

At my (Amber's) work, we have a monthly potluck/social during the months of the academic year. Some of you might remember the White Elephant gift exchange at Christmastime.

This month's social was the first annual "Staff Talent Show." Our group originally thought about doing "The Evolution of Dance" - a hilarious act! We weren't sure if we could pull the whole thing off, so we decided to go with a lip sync to "Keep On" by the Brady Bunch!!!

I choreographed the moves and overall, we had a great time. We only had one party pooper from our department who wouldn't participate. You might be wondering why there are only 4 of the 6 Brady Kids on stage. Well, since both of us Brady girls are preggers, there are actually 6 of us on stage! :-)

Click HERE to watch a video of our performance and get a great laugh - I pretty much guarentee a belly laugh for all!!! (The act has already "broken up" unfortunately, so we are not available for your upcoming wedding or party as entertainment. Sorry to disappoint you...)

Jason's brain color

Your Brain is Yellow
Of all the brain types, yours is the most intellectual. You crave mental stimulation, and your thoughts tend to very complex.Your thoughts tend to be innovative and cutting edge, though many people don't understand them.
You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about science, architecture, and communication.

Amber's Brain Color

Your Brain is Green
Of all the brain types, yours has the most balance. You are able to see all sides to most problems and are a good problem solver. You need time to work out your thoughts, but you don't get stuck in bad thinking patterns.
You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about the future, philosophy, and relationships (both personal and intellectual).

Amazingly enough, I think this is pretty accurate! Thanks Jennie for the fun post idea!

Kitchen/dining floor done!

Well, here are some more pictures of our floor finished. I don't have any before pictures with me right now, but I'll just say the linoleum was bad. Also, notice our nice buffet table we purchased on Craigslist. Originally it was like $600, and we bought it for a mere $150! It works great in our kitchen and adds some more cabinet space for Amber's cookbooks. Now, onto my next project of converting all our closets into nicely organized storage areas.

Randomosity...

MomJ gave us these cute towels when we came to visit in February! Kudos to her for a perfect match on the bathroom colors! They look great!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CraigsList is our friend! If you haven't been on this site - check it out! It is basically an internet garage sale! There is one for just about every major city. So far we have purchased over the last year: our dryer, baby stuff, maternity clothes, and a buffet for the kitchen. We are in the process of selling two gallons of paint that we didn't end up using. It is great - try it!

I saw this swing - battery operated - for $5 right in our home town! I bought it, a stroller, a carseat snuggly thing for winter, and some maternity clothes from the gal. And, it turns out she is one of my friends from church's sister! Small world, great deals!

I am going to look at more maternity clothes on Sunday from someone else on there, too!

Oh, the cute little baby in the swing is thanks to MomB - she sent us that to "plant" in the baby's room so we'd have a girl! We'll know in 5 weeks if it worked!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What else... I have been very busy at work and so that is why there has been a lack in posts. But, things slowed down a bit today. I am feeling quite a bit better, too. I am rarely nauseaous (YES!), but I am still pretty tired. Driving home from work in the light has been nice. I wore maternity clothes the last three days, too. I might be courageous enough to post a pic soon... I feel like I just look fat and not pregnant, but the maternity clothes somehow make me feel better and that I actually look like it is a baby and not just blubber!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Iborrowed this title from fellow blogger, Carbon. But it is true, these were some very random things!

Lastly, Jason, my wonderful and fabulous, oh-so-hardworking husband, is done with our ENTIRE floor!!! I could not believe how quickly he got it done. He worked every night and crazily during the past few weekends. It looks GREAT!!! We will have to post some pictures soon! We purchased a poster to go in a frame we have for the living room. We got a great deal on a rug for in there, too. Thank you Kohl's for the 30% off coupon! I said to Jason, "we can get the run when God gives me my next 30% off Kohl's coupon." Since I have only gotten one ONCE in my life, it was a great suprise when it came like the next day in the mail! I peeled of the little sticker to reveal "30% off!" I was in shock! Sure enough, it was on a great sale already, and then with the 30% off it was a steal! Yessss!!! I love deals! So, once we get things on the walls, we will post. The kitchen is ready, so maybe that pic will be next week!

Have a great weekend, all!

Bedroom Pics, Finally!

Hooray for the new fan!!!

The "old" fan. Don't you want it??? It is in the basement! We tried selling it on Craigslist for like $5 and no one wanted it!

We painted our bedroom right after the new year - a very pretty gray with purple undertones. I don't know if you can tell from the pics the exact color, but it looks great. Jason also installed the new ceiling fan. I hated lying in bed looking at the other one. The only thing left in the bedroom now is window treatments. I am thinking about some wood blinds and some pretty sheer curtain panels. Well, and of course I would love to be rid of the pink carpet! Notice the pretty sconces from MomA that she gave us for Christmas - they look great!

My First Chicken

I have no idea why I feel the need to post this so much later than it happened, but Sunday when it did happen, I thought it would make a great post!

Sunday Jason and I went to the grocery store after church to get some essentials - milk, eggs, etc. I was quite hungry and didn't know what I was going to make for lunch. I know a few people who buy rotisserie chickens from the grocery store and use the meat for various things. I have been leery of this, because if you know me well, you know I don't eat things with bones in them (yes - no buffalo wings, ribs, or fried chicken for me!) It reminds me that what I am eating was once alive... Just too close for comfort.

So, we decided to "go for it," especially since I saw some that were just breasts and not the whole chicken. We bought some good buns and decided on sandwiches for lunch.

The smell of the chicken was pretty potent for my pregnant nose. I realized I had to pull quite the layer of skin off of the chicken to get the meat, and that there was still plenty of bone. We had our sandwiches - they were okay. It still grossed me out a bit to know that what I was eating I just took off of a bone. I think that took away from my enjoyment.

The best part, was getting my hands into the cold chicken later in the day when I decided to take it out of the fridge and get all the meat off. The leftover carcass kind of scarred me a bit...

The meat still sits in my fridge. It will be made into some type of hotdish tomorrow where I can slather it in cream of mushroom and pretend it was a boneless, skinless, frozen breast.

I don't think another rotisserie chicken is in our near future. I admit, it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that great, either!

Flooring 2.0

Trying another post since I'm hearing and having problems with images showing up. So here goes attempt 2 at flooring progress...
